The Government of Canada has recognized that it must be bold, ambitious and inventive in finding new ways to address persistent problems that traditional approaches have failed to solve. In this spirit, Budget 2017 announced the Impact Canada Initiative, a whole-of-government approach to help the Government of Canada adopt a transformative outcomes-based approach to help solve pressing public policy challenges.
The Impact Canada Initiative, championed by the Minister of Democratic Institutions and supported by the PCO Impact and Innovation Unit, helped launch a Smart Cities Challenge in partnership with Infrastructure Canada on November 23, 2017. A series of other initiatives will be launched over the course of 2018, including Clean Tech Impact, a series of challenges to help unlock breakthrough solutions to complex and persistent problems in developing clean technology in partnership with Natural Resources Canada.
Participate in this learning event to understand more about the Impact Canada Initiative, its key initiatives and priorities, and how PCO’s Impact and Innovation Unit is working with other departments to develop innovative initiatives to improve outcomes for Canadians.
A light lunch will be served.
This event is part of our “ConnEXions” series.
