Meet the Panelists

Our panel brings together senior leaders from across sectors, each offering distinct insights, real-world experience, and practical guidance to support your professional growth.

Catherine Decarie is the Chief People Officer at Canadian North and an experienced executive with a broad background spanning HR, legal services, communications, stakeholder engagement, ESG, and governance. A former Senior Vice President at Export Development Canada, she is also an ICF-accredited leadership coach and entrepreneur supporting leaders through change and high-performance culture development. Catherine holds advanced credentials from Columbia Business School, the University of Cambridge, and Queen’s Law.

Shelley King is the Founder and CEO of Natural Products Canada, where she has positioned the country as a global leader in the bioeconomy and supported the growth of more than 1,800 companies. With over 30 years of experience bridging science and industry, she has led NPC in delivering strategic capital to early-stage innovators and catalyzing significant economic impact across Canada. Shelley previously held senior roles in biotech, research commercialization, and innovation leadership, and holds an MSc in Medicine (Neuroscience) and an MBA from Memorial University.

Arun Thangaraj is the Deputy Minister of Transport Canada and a seasoned public service leader with extensive experience across immigration, global affairs, international development, and transportation regulation. He has held senior roles including Associate Deputy Minister at both Transport Canada and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and Assistant Deputy Minister and CFO at Global Affairs Canada. Arun is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds graduate degrees in public administration and business, and is a recipient of both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
