Meet the Speaker

Native from Prévost in the Laurentians (QC), Annie Beauséjour holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) as well as a master’s degree in international management from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal (HEC).

She began her career in the public service in 1990 as a student customs inspector at Mirabel airport. In 1995, she joined the Management Trainee Program which led her to hold various positions within Revenue Canada Customs and Excise in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal. She graduated from the program in 2001 in the position of Associate Director of the Airports District. In 2003, she was promoted to Chief of operations at the Montreal’s Longroom.

Ms. Beauséjour held the position of Director of the Commercial Services Division from 2007 to 2012. After a few months as Director of the Corporate Programs and Services Division, she was appointed Director of the Intelligence and Enforcement Operations Division in April 2013.

She assumed the responsibilities of Director General of the Quebec Region between September 2018 and June 2024, where she notably led operations related to the handling of the refugee influx at Roxham Road, as well as the pandemic response at the border.  Since 2024, she has reported to the Human Resources Branch, where she coaches several executives (in the process of ICF certification) and leads national projects requiring operational expertise.
