Creating Accountability with Empathy
How Executive Leaders Empower Others to Deliver Results
As an executive, your job is not to own every decision or solve every problem. It is to create the conditions where others can take ownership and succeed. Yet, even well-intentioned leadership behaviours – such as stepping in to solve problems, taking back decisions or avoiding difficult conversations – can unintentionally undermine accountability.
Join us for a highly interactive, 90-minute virtual workshop exploring how executives can strengthen accountability through their own leadership practices. Using a realistic, evolving public sector case study, participants will navigate leadership dilemmas involving delegated authority, performance expectations, feedback and empowerment.
Through facilitated discussion, shared experiences and practical application, participants will explore how to balance empathy with accountability, encourage sound decision-making and empower others to take greater ownership for results. Practical leadership approaches to strengthening accountability by setting clear expectations, providing effective feedback, and empowering others to take ownership of results will be explored. The session will also examine how leaders can foster initiative, sound judgement, and continuous improvement while maintaining appropriate oversight and support.
