Sandra Leduc is the Executive Director of the Criminal, Security and Diplomatic Law Division at Global Affairs Canada.
After graduating from McGill law with a B.C.L. and a LL.B., Sandra worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in India, and then clerked for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the Netherlands.
She joined the Government of Canda in 2002, serving in multiple departments: At Justice Canada, she worked as General Counsel on Indigenous, constitutional and international law issues. At Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada, she worked as Director of US Relations. At Global Affairs Canada, she served for the Canadian government abroad, for two years in Kabul, Afghanistan, and for three years in Ramallah, the West Bank.
Sandra is the third Canadian woman to have summited both versions of the Seven Summits – the highest mountain on each continent, including Mount Everest in 2012. She has served on several local Boards of Directors, including the Ottawa Flying Club, Interval House, and SPAO: Photographic Arts Centre. She is mom to a very energetic 2 year old.
