Prior to joining Veterans Affairs as Director of Cabinet Business in 2021, Julie spent two years at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat providing submission support, due diligence, and challenge function across the Social and Cultural federal portfolio. Julie was recruited to the public service in as a scientist, after several years of serving her community as a naturopathic physician. She was a member of Health Canada’s team where she held progressive roles across the health policy domain and led Health Canada’s participation as an international signatory to Open Government, for which her efforts were recognized with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal. Guided by the principles of servant leadership, Julie aims to continually embody the values of care, compassion, and respect in her work to uphold and advance service excellence to all Canadians.
